It’s the colour trend that hasn’t “dyed” down (no pun intended!) since early 2016. Celebrities from; Kylie Jenner to Rihanna, Ellie Goulding and Cara Delevigne have all rocked various shades of silver to “granny grey” toned tresses. With grey hair now being embraced rather than shied away from, silver toned hair is becoming the biggest hair trend to follow this year.
Silver hair can be achieved on very light, to bleach blonde hair making this one of the highest maintenance styles you can set your sights on. Going for all over bleach can be extremely striking and eye-catching, if you’re willing to put up with the dreaded regrowth! If you’re looking to go for highlights for balayage for a softer overall style, this can eliminate the need for frequent root touch-ups and also save your hair from potential breakage.
We’ve compiled a selection of some of our favourite silver hair looks from in salon with some of our stylist’s to give you a realistic view on achieving this colour with us at Samuel David Eco Salon, but also our go to products to keep your silver tresses looking fresh and frosty between visits with us!
Using Davines Flamboyage, is also a good way to delve into silver haired tresses without going for a full, all over colour. Flamboyage works in the same way as balayage, adding slices of colour which work to soften and add more of a natural highlight to your hair.
Here is client Sharmila (left image) after her visit to Jenna at Samuel David Eco Salon. Jenna has lightened Sharmila’s hair using Flamboyage to a very light blonde and toned the hair to give subtle hints of a silver tone. Using a silver toner in this way also helps to eliminate yellow and brassy colours.
Keeping your colour topped up using the Davines Alchemic range is also a perfect way to keep your locks looking fresh between visits to Samuel David Eco Salon. The Alchemic range was recently re-released by Davines at the end of 2017, to allow even more of a reduction in the carbon footprint made when creating the products, but also adding more pigmentation to allow a longer-lasting effect on the hair when used as a weekly treatment. Speak to one of our stylist’s today about the Alchemic range at Samuel David and begin your silver hair journey with us in 2018!
